The Hypervolt Lock

The Hypervolt Lock is a security feature designed to prevent unauthorised charging.

When enabled, the Hypervolt Lock disables all charging activity, so that no charging occurs without your knowledge. You can enable the Lock directly on the app Charger screen. This is particularly useful if you think your charger may be easily accessed by others or if you are away from home.

The lock feature requires an active WiFi connection to operate. Ensure your charger is connected to WiFi. If it’s not, the locking and unlocking commands cannot be processed.

The Lock Status

There are three lock statuses: Unlocked, Locked and Pending Lock.

Status: Unlocked

When Unlocked, your Hypervolt will respond to your vehicle energy signals and will initiate charging.

Status: Locked

When the Hypervolt is locked, all upcoming charging session will be prevented, regardless of the activation mode (Plug and Charge or Scheduled) or regardless of the charging mode (Boost, Eco, super Eco or BatterySafe).

You can verify the Hypervolt is locked on the app or by checking the Hypervolt LEDs. The app home screen provides a clear indication of the charger’s lock status. The LEDs on the unit will display a solid orange colour.

If the charger is locked and plugged into a vehicle, the LEDs will flash orange, signalling that a charge is trying to initiate but is prevented due to the lock.

Status: Pending Lock

Pending Lock indicates that the lock command is being processed but cannot be completed immediately. This status may appear one of the following reasons:

  • When a charging session is currently in progress, the Hypervolt cannot be locked until the current session concludes.
  • When Multimode Charging is enabled, the lock is disabled.
  • Delays in communication between the Hypervolt and the cloud servers can delay the processing of the lock command."
