How Hypervolt chargers comply with UK Electric Vehicle Smart Charge Point security requirements

What are the new ‘Security’ Regulations’ ?

In addition to the ‘Smart Charging Regulations’ as of 30th December 2022 the government will have also enforced device security requirements per schedule 1 of the Electric Vehicle Smart Charge Point regulations. This is to help ensure your device is safe and secure to use.

How to delete your personal data from the device

Whilst the Hypervolt Home 3.0 does not store personal information such as your name and email on the charger itself it does store information about how you use your charger, wifi credentials and other information that the charger needs to support its features and maintain any settings.

You can delete any data stored on your charge point by going into your app then Settings -> Factory Reset.

How long will your Hypervolt device be supported for?

Hypervolt will issue updates to your Home 3.0 up to 3 years from the date of purchase or 5 years if you've also purchased an extended warranty.

How can you protect your Hypervolt device ?

Your Hypervolt charger uses state of the art encryption on the device and in our software which means that you do not need to worry about protecting your device by adding an additional password.

The only password requirements are setting up login credentials with the app however your login credentials are not stored on the Hypervolt Charger itself.
