Home Battery System Setup

What we need to know in order to enable BatterySafe mode and other home battery functionality in the Hypervolt app

With the release of Hypervolt Synergy, we have new integration options available to help manage the usage of your home battery system. There is now a questionnaire in the Hypervolt app which asks about several critical details that are required to ensure the system functions appropriately.

Do you have a home battery?

We need to know whether you have a home battery system installed, as this is not something that can be detected automatically.

  • If you answer "yes" to this question, we will enable the BatterySafe functionality, which gives you an additional charging mode for plug and charge or scheduled charging.
  • If you answer "no" to this question, we will end the questionnaire - but you can always come back and change your answers!

Is this an AC-coupled system?

Hypervolt uses Current Transformers (CTs) to monitor energy flows at key places around the house. There will be one placed on the mains cable for your house, and the Home 3.0 and Home 3 Pro hardware have the ability to use a second CT to monitor an additional energy flow; however these only work on AC (not DC) battery systems.

  •  If you answer "yes" to this question, we will ask you to confirm placement of the second CT
  • If you answer "no" to this question, we will not be able to display live battery data for now

Have you installed the 2nd CT clamp?

We need to know whether the second CT is installed to monitor your home battery system.

  • If you answer "yes" to this question, we will use any data from the second CT clamp to indicate energy flowing in or out of your home battery system.
  • If you answer "no" to this question, we will not look for data from the second CT clamp.

Battery System Details

This is an optional question which we use to customise the battery displayed on your home screen. We will also use these details to understand which system(s) we should target for enhanced integration in the future.

You can always come back and change your answers to these questions!
