If you have replaced your charger, wether as part of an upgrade or a warranty replacement, you should update your account details.
Any upgrades or moves must be done by a certified EV installer or electrician, and preferably a Hypervolt Approved Installer! Please contact sales@hypervolt.co.uk or support@hypervolt.co.uk if you need assistance finding someone to do this work.
After you’ve upgraded your charger, or it was replaced as part of an RMA, you will need to unadopt the old charger from your account, and then adopt the new charger and associate it with the old location.
The below instructions apply to Hypervolt app version 5.5.0 or greater
You can unadopt the old charger from your account at any time, though we recommend waiting until after the unit has been physically removed. To unadopt the charger:
- In the Settings screen, select the charger that you’d like to unadopt and remove from your account.
- Select Charger settings, and then click My device at the top of the screen.
- Click on Move charger at the bottom of the Device details screen.
- Select the Remove charger completely option from the list.
- You’ll see a popup window asking you to confirm whether or not you want to remove the charger. Select Yes on this screen, and the device will be removed from your account.
After the old charger is removed, and the new charger has been installed and tested, you can adopt it to your account. You should be standing near the charger before you start the process.
- In the Hypervolt app, open the Settings screen and then press Add Charger
- Follow the on-screen instructions to find your charger and associate it with your account.
- When you are prompted to set the charger location, make sure to select the location you’d used for the charger you’re replacing.
- After the new charger has been successfully associated with your account and had the network settings configured, you can control it as usual from the app and see all of your charging history combined in the Energy Usage and Analytics areas.
