Not Charging: RCD

Troubleshooting: What to Do If Your Charger Appears to Be Powered Off!

If your Hypervolt charger isn’t showing any LEDs, not charging, or isn't responding to the app, there are several steps you can take to diagnose the issue.

Troubleshooting steps

  • Check Connection Status in the App: Open the Hypervolt app and see if it indicates that your charger is offline right from the home screen.

  • Adjust LED Brightness: If there are no LEDs showing, your charger might appear off even when it's not. To check this:

    • Navigate to: Settings -> Charger Settings -> LED Brightness in the Hypervolt app.
    • Adjust the LED brightness setting; it might be set to 0%, which makes the charger seem powered off.
  • Test to see if the unit can charge: Try connecting your EV to see if the charger initiates the charging process despite the lack of LED indicators.

  • Inspect and test the circuit breaker: Locate your home's circuit breaker and make sure it's switched to the ON position. Perform a quick test on any RCD/RCBO style circuit breakers by pressing the test button. This checks if they are functioning correctly.

When to Contact Support

If you’ve tried the above steps and your charger still isn't working, here’s what to do next:

  • Contact Your Installer: They can offer deeper diagnostics and, if needed, come to your location to check the installation. This is often necessary if the issue might be with the wiring or setup.

  • Reach Out to Hypervolt Support: If you prefer, contact our support team. We can open a support ticket and arrange a site visit for a thorough examination.
